Language of Reference





*Simple past

The simple past is used to fix event and situations in the past, you can use it to say when the event or situation happened.

We met at the restaurant
Note: Many verbs have irregular past forms and we have to learn them.



*Past continuous

We use past continuous for an action or situation that was in progress at a particular time in the past.

When I walked into the room, Emily was writing postcards and Alex was reading



*Present Perfect


The present perfect has several uses, but it always shows a connection between the past and now. We use it to talk about situations that started in the past and that continue now.



I have worked here for less than a week



*Simple present

We use the simple present to talk about facts (things which are true at any time)

Anna speaks good English.

*Present Continuous

We use it to talk about present situation thth we see as temporary they can be activities in progress or changing situations.

- Iam learning two foreing languages right now
- My voice is getting louder every day
